Would people use a website that promotes maps-based nostalgia?

For quite some time I've been thinking about a website idea, but at the moment I'm not convinced it's something I want to take on myself. I'm hoping that someone else somewhere will already have built what I'm thinking, in which case I'll be equally happy! In the interim, I'd really like it if people could offer constructive criticism of the idea below - and tell me whether something similiar already exists. The premise I love reminisicing about places that I've been in the past. And not just the places, but everything that happened there. People I've met. Relationships formed (or destroyed). What I ate, saw, heard and smelled. What I'd like to build (or see built) is a maps-based site where people can append a wide range of different content types as a means of recording their memories of places they've visited, life events, journeys they made or travels they undertook. In a bit more detail For me, when I look back at my travels, I always think of the music I associate with a certain place. I'd love the ability to 'pin' a track or band to a map, to reflect an association I made between a place and music. I'd like to be able to 'tag' a friend on a map, to show where I first met that person. Or, to add a life event to the map, to reflect where I got married, broke up, had an accident, found myself, fell in love, spent NYE...whatever the occassion. Or upload a photo I took of a location, which might have changed significantly since I last visited. Maps are incredibly powerful tools for organising memories, but I can't seem to find any sites that let me pin differnet types of content onto a map to create a material map of my memories and journeys. I love looking at Google Streetview at the places I visited 5, 10, 15 years ago, to see what they're like now. Often, I love discovering that some of the places I stayed are still there, sometimes with the same website and people. I'd also like the ability to append flight routes, plane journeys or train, bus, car rides also, as often the journey to or from a place is as much of a memory as the visit there itself. Other websites I've come across a few sites that touch on this idea, but they never quite seem to do what I want them to do. Everyplaces is perhaps the closest, but it's focussed more on checking-in and reviews, which isn't what I really want. And it's quite cumbersome to use. Memolane was also a nice spin on things (before it closed down); the ability to organise social content by event, e.g. photos, tweets, friends all around a chronological timeline. Next steps I'm not massively convinced that there's a start-up idea in here; I just would like to see this functionality exist somewhere as it's a personal problem I have. I am really nostalgic and love reminisicing via maps. With that in mind, could you see a use for this sort of service? Is there a start-up in there somewhere? Or is someone already offering what I want?

Sounds like a dumb idea to me but who knows. Build a minimal version for a friend or something and see if they like it.
