What are some good beginner golf courses in the Bay Area (ideally the East Bay)?

    I personally recommend http://www.americangolf.com/tilden-park-golf-course/ located in the North Berkeley Hills. It is a fairly easy track with which I have taken some novice golf friends to play on who have thoroughly enjoyed the experience The course is rated 6294 yards from the back and has a slope of 124 which is fairly short and easy considering most courses are closer to 7000 yards and have an average slope of around 135. However, most of the holes are fairly hilly so I recommend riding a cart. Overall, pretty fun and easy track for beginners as well as more advanced players to have some fun over the weekend!
