What did you do to get over a break-up?

My ex-girlfriend cannot get over our breakup, saw me with my current girlfriend today, and she lost it. What do I do?

  • Today I was sitting with my girlfriend and my ex-girlfriend saw me, approached us, and said "that's all you could get asshole?". We ignored her but she pushed my girlfriend. My ex is about 5"8 and played sports so she is quite athletic and my currently girlfriend is only 5"6 and somewhat of a bookworm type that doesn't like fighting. My ex got a few punches in before I had to pull her off. Then she tried to kiss me (I am not kidding she did) and then said "remember I know where you live". After that she kinda left. Should I be worried?

First of all, your girlfriend should have filed a police report for assault because she was assaulted, according to what you've said here. Also, it sounds like you and your girlfriend should get a restraining order from your ex. She seems highly unstable and volatile, and it sounds like she has no intention of respecting your privacy. She has physically assaulted your girlfriend, sexually harassed you, and threatened to take further aggressive action toward you in the future. I see no reason to brush her actions off- it is clear that she has no qualms with taking aggressive action against both you and your girlfriend, and has no intention of stopping. Be proactive about this- do you want to see your girlfriend harassed and assaulted again in the future? Do you want to have your obsessed ex creeping around your house at night? Its only natural to be worried. But for this I offer two answers 1) talk her down, if you can convince her without any legal or law enforcement means the better. This could trigger a possible movie moment where she'd make more moves on you. 2) Restraining order and a lawsuit for assault, from the way she acted you could even let her pay youto stay away from your gf and yourself. It sounds evil and heartless, knock on a lawyer's door and discuss the other possible choices. No doubt these are only few of the options but these claims are indeed valid.

It was funny. i just cant believe some one could do that. I am not blaming her buddy but you!!!! if she loved you madly, why did you leave her? may be cause she was madly in love. but never mind whatever be the reason..... in present scenario....... go and talk to your ex and tell her "bluntly" why did you leave her.... she need to listen how she is and why your relation did not work out ..... first she will hate you (will never try kissing you again) that's what you want, isn't it? then.... she will understand and will move on and will work on her new relationship later she will be thankful to you but you got to tell her "WHY ??????????" as far as i can see..... she need to get that answer..... ""straight from you"" (and teach your present GF some self defense, 5''6"" is not bad )

Yeah I'd be worried. Sounds like you have a psycho for an ex. You either need to get your point across to the ex and let her know that what happened will not be tolerated again. Let her know that the next issue she causes like that will involve YOU calling the police on her. If all else fails - time for some order's of protection for both you and your new girlfriend. My opinion is that you got out when the getting was good! The ex sure sounds a bit unstable. Don't let the ex control and/or ruin your new relationship.Best wishes
