How to apply to Manipal university?

How is Manipal University in terms of education?

  • How is quality of education provided at Manipal ? Is it at par with NITs ? Is there any research culture ? How are the professors ? Do companies like Google, Facebook etc hire from this university ? mainly looking for details about engineering in CSE. PS : An interesting video of Manipal, a rip off of Summer of 69 :

I have few of my friends in MIT Manipal, so I tell you something. If you are looking for CS branch then the companies listed below came for campus selection last year. Microsoft (3 divisions) Flipkart CISCO Samsung SAP Labs Oracle Delloite Toshiba Cybage AKS Software Honeywell Juniper Sapient My friend is in Mechanical Engineering and he is pretty much happy over there. Campus infrastructure is very good and maintained compared to any NITs and IITs. Peer group may not be as good as compared to IITs and NITs but still you will meet people of different folks and different talent. Good social exposure to develop personality. Please don't rate faculty quality of NITs and IITs too high. You are all on your own in your college in most of the case. Research might not be as good (assumption) but they made a student satellite which I consider a big achievement. In short, life is good at Manipal.

Being a student at Manipal University helped me immensely to grow as an individual. The place has a vibe which no other college can provide.Along with studies, extra curricular activities provide so much of interaction between people from not only across the country but world too.Infact, I've been abroad for competitions through my college ...that's the kind of exposure MIT provides. On the academic front, MIT has the best infrastructure in terms of labs and other facilities and studying here is worthwhile. The placement scene is amazing too...especially CSE, IT and Electronics branch with almost all students in the first two branches have amazing offers at hand from huge software companies while some (by some, I mean quite a few) have more than one offer in hand. In short, Manipal was one of the best decisions I've made!

i am a 3rd year student in manipal institute of technology..the university is good..but the quality has gone down offlate..civil and mechanical and one of the best in the country both in terms of infrastructure and faculty..these two streams are on par with institutes like iit kanpur and kharagpur or maybe even better..eee and ece are good but not the best..a few professors are very good but the rest are just average and cse is the least ranked compared to the other streams..i would rate it only 6 or 6.5 out of 10..yes big companies google and facebook come but very rarely and the selection is limited to maximum 3-4 students..the placements are hyped but they are not extra ordinary..the are fine..the campus is very nice..the place is very nice..a very nice place to study but better get into nit warangal or suratkal or any of the top iits..they are better in cse..if u r thinking of mechanical or civil then yes manipal is excellent
