What are the ideal choices of Businesses, that a student can start in India?
-
Given the limited time, capital and resources, what would be the ideal choices for a 20-year old student to start a business in India? I would like to emphasize on the fact that the location is going to be India. I am looking for ideas which have been proved successful with limited resources in the first and second world countries and which would also be fruitful here in India.

Answer:
Trying to find opportunities in which you can immerse yourself is the wrong way of identifying what you can do with your life. Instead, introspect and see what you are passionate about, what your areas of interest are and what areas excite you. Once you have your list of interests, identify big opportunities, need gaps, aspects that are under serviced or disorganised, problems that need to be fixed, wrongs that need to be made right, etc... you will then be able to identify possible solutions (services or products) that can address those opportunities. Why is it important to identify opportunities in your area of interest? Because that's the only way you will have the will to struggle through the challenges that you will encounter on the way. And challenges you will encounter. Every venture, no matter how good the concept/product/service, will have its share of challenges. If you are not passionate about your domain, there will not be enough motivation to walk through those challenging times.

Right now a lot of at home entrepreneurs are being born and you would be wise to take a page from their book. For example, a friend of mine she works full time, but on the weekends she sources materials from Orrisa and Rajastan and has them stitched here. She then models them herself and puts up pictures on Facebook on a page she created for this purpose. She gives them all numbers and prices and asks you to confirm your order via email. After this you do a NEFT transfer to her account and she couriers this to you. This is a one woman show and requires minimum effort on her part. She had some 200 likes to start with and now she's now upto nearly a 1000 likes. So pick up an idea that would work well on a social platform and will give you good ROI. This way your capital involvement is low and your capacity to earn is greatly increased. Lot of home bakers use social media and a lot of clothing outfits use it too. Some People even sell art and craft via Facebook pages. So hit upon a good idea and see how you can make that a success via social media. Hope this helps.
