How to create map overlays on google map?

Is there a visual travel itinerary map that can import Google Places?

  • eg of zoomed in view. I made a map on Google My Places. I do NOT want to have to enter this data to another site. (Tripline does NOT import from Google My Places). Is there a site where I can import this data (updateable) and attach photos to it so I can see what my travel map looks like visually? api-fed photos on top of the map Is there a mobile app that does this? My Goals are: Create or Import (a map I already created) a map from Google Map. Be able to attach photos to each location(atleast one) from services (Flickr, Instagram, etc) See these photos in the map at different sizes at different levels zoomed out = smaller photos but I can see them clear enough to distinguish the attraction of the location zoomed in = bigger and bigger photos in relation to other photos on the map

  • Answer:

Basically what you're asking for is a service that is able to: 1) Read Google Map's KLM data. 2) Display "custom markers" in the form of images on the map. I think Panoramio comes the closest to this but it can't import the KLM data (it wouldn't be able to make sense of your data anyway). Any reason you can't recreate your maps there? Is it too many markers to add all over again? While this is actually pretty simple to create with Google Maps API, this is a strange use case that most trip planning/itinerary sites wouldn't see as viable to support.
