Question for Blog Editors and Producers who use Google Analytics: Do you track your site's Adjusted Bounce Rate? How's that working out?

Answer:
I've tracked adjusted bounce rate for several different clients, and the results are mixed. I find for content sites such as blogs it's more interesting to track interaction with pages in the form of scrolling per Justin Cutroni's advanced content tracking: http://cutroni.com/blog/2012/02/21/advanced-content-tracking-with-google-analytics-part-1/ http://cutroni.com/blog/2012/02/23/advanced-content-tracking-with-google-analytics-part-2/ These let you view when your visitors scroll on a content page, and how many reach the end of the content. Combined this with a timer for length on page and you can get a feel for the number of your "bounces" who really are "readers" as well as how many are "scanners" and scroll down but leave quickly.
