The other answers already answer most of your questions. Here are my 2 cents that I feel are missing out in the previous answers. You will have 4 courses each in the first 2 semesters. With the course work + on campus jobs, you might not have enough time to collaborate for research and a very few students actually end up doing any extra research/collaborations with professors. You might have some time in the summer (if you don't take up an internship) and continue it in 3rd semester. Professors are not too keen to let you work on research projects directly in the 3rd (and your final) semester unless you show some commitment to stay on for an extra semester or a PhD.The placements is totally up to you, where you apply and your contacts. There are UB Grads who got into big companies right after graduating from UB. Although this video is 3 years old you can watch this hangout session, where I have answered a lot of questions here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4te2BCr7ycMand are still relevant,  if you have the patience to skim through a 90 minute video.

UB is a good university for Computer scientists/engineers.1.) You'll get into UB. Don't worry.2.) There are plenty or fresearch opportunities. The department chief and some other people from the department add you to the list-serv and you get offers for scholarships/internships regularly.3.) Placements are okay. The placements here are not like placements in India. There are career fairs and networking events. We get good companies at the career fairs. We had Goldman Sachs 2 years back.4.) If you are living off-campus, estimate 8k per month for accommodation. On campus apartments will cost 10-11k per month. I don't know for sure if graduate students can live there tho. I think they can.5.) Estimate 30k per year. (Tuition and fees only)6.) That's a really broad question. It depends on a lot of factors including your grade, your involvement on-campus, your interview skills, networking skills, etc.7.) I don't know about this question. But as far as I know, most of the professors are co-operative/helpful.

UB Comp Sci is a good place for research. The MS curriculum is divided into 4 sections in which you need to take minimum one course out of each. You can read the course details in the graduate coursebook in CSE website. Fee given in I 20 for me was 31k USD. Cost of accomodation ranges from 220 to 320 USD pm and an addtional 250 for self expenses Many profs are good and demanding and have good research projects. On campus jobs are easy to find. :)

UB is a good university when it comes to research. There are some good professors who are doing some interesting work and at your score I believe you should get an admit. When it comes to placement its quite tough. Cost of living is low and on campus jobs are easy to find which will cover your living expenses. For MS expense refer UB website as I believe they have increased tuition fees.
