Where Is The Failing Enterprise Website?

Metrics: Are there any studies/ experiences that could help to find a benchmark for the impact of Social Media to Conversions or Website traffic for the enterprise (b2b) IT/Software industry eCommerce?

  • e.g. - which Social Media Channels are used in the area (microblogs, forums, social networks etc.?) - How much Social Buzz/ Discussions (real Voice of Customer) is normal in this area/ for this kind of products and customers? How active could/should enterprise buyers be? - How is the usual impact of Social Media activities (e.g. campaings, news or social engagement) to the traffic of a product-/company website? All this questions really focused on the Enterprise/ B2B area. In the ideal case for the IT industry

  • Answer:

Our IT enterprise clients experience huge success in social media.  It's a mix of organic engagement and paid promotion.  LinkedIn is golden and Twitter is pretty good.  Facebook is hit or miss though. Google plus is great when working within the groups on the network. It's all about content.  Create rich and engaging content and then promote it like crazy.  Groups on those social networks eat that stuff up.
