Web Design Courses: What are some good online courses for intermediate web designers?

  • I have a pretty good grasp on HTML and CSS, and I'm starting to learn Javascript. I have a basic grasp on programming concepts. Courses for PHP, JavaScript, HTML and CSS needed. Please provide links. Thanks in advance.

    http://teamtreehouse.com/ has both PHP and Ruby on Rails video tutorials that are really good. I made it most of the way through each as a relative beginner, and they walk you through doing a pretty basic application in both frameworks. The downside for Treehouse is the cost (I think you have to have the gold membership for the project videos) which is $50/mo, but they will give you the first month for half price. My recommendation would be to signup and go through one of these projects, depending on your choice, and if you don't make it through in the one month period, you can download and keep the videos (encouraged) and cancel your subscription.
