Has anyone done the 9 week Coder Camps program in Houston? What was hiring day like? How many have been hired from your troop?

Answer:
Our hiring demo parties are a lot of fun. We have an amazing team that puts them together and everyone really gets into making the best way to show off our students' abilities. Here are a few pictures from hiring day events in Houston. Everyone has an amazing time and numerous students have been given offer on the spot. Every time we host the event it gets bigger. I will try to post updates every now and then to show the way it changes over time.

I attended the codercamps bootcamp and you can find out more about my experiences at http://sprky.co hiring day was non existent at least while I was there. Quite a few people got jobs after camp or got picked up by the camp as counselors (all current actively participating counselors are previous students), at least that was my observation.

I had a great life changing experience at Coder Camps. Definitely worth the time and effort and money. The instructors' patience and knowledge is what makes this place special. But before you decide to come to this place make sure you love to code, love to work hard long hours, and you have some basics of programming covered. I would definitely suggest taking a month or 2 before enrolling to make some personal projects.

I finished the program a couple weeks ago and had multiple offers within a week of graduation. I went to Coder Camps for a career change, and it successfully enabled that shift. I'm not sure how everyone else is doing, though I do know one other colleague of mine has accepted a contract. We didn't have a specific hiring day, which was fine because getting exposure to companies is not really a problem in this industry. If you're worried about your ability to get hired, Coder Camps recently hired two in-house recruiters which was an aggressive move to boost their already impressive graduate employment numbers.
