Answer:
Demonstrate passion and a willingness to learn. And never stop being curious. Read blogs, articles, watch interviews and keynotes, join groups and online communities (LinkedIn, FB, etc). And above all: network. It's all about who you know.

It's really, really tough - and I have to ask - do you really want to do marketing? The hours are long, the work is difficult and sometimes drudgery and the bosses are all mad (simultaneously angry and unhinged) and the pay is terrible. If still yes, then good. Mostly people just write to people - I won't cover the whole resume/cover letter/good impressions/email thing. This is likely not going to work., except at a tiny firm where you have to go around making coffee or emailing everybody in the world about your company (actually did this). The second way is to attend industry talks/open houses (if you're still in university), recruitment fairs and so forth and actually talk to the staff and people there. If you make a good impression they might remember you and ease your way. The best way is to ask everybody you know and try to get a recommendation, a favour or a referral. Most of the good positions I've gotten came from friends whose dads owned agencies or worked there before. Network network network, and market yourself.

I don't see the lack of experience as a problem for an intern? People who hire interns expect no experience

Offer to work for free or DO SOMETHING - find a band/rapper / do the marketing for a coffee shop / create a marketing program on social media - something - we live in a day & age where you can "DO SOMETHING" without the constraints of education, experience, etc.

You don't need to have an experience to work as an intern . Curriculum Vitae would reflect your personality, interests and attitude especially for a fresher. Thus spend more time to draft and finalize on a good format resume according to the standards applicable in your country. Mention your strenghts and weaknesses , hobbies, past time in your CV as you're a fresher. Once done with your resume approach companies online and offline by visiting their websites. There are dedicated websites for internship search on Google. Exple http://letsintern.com and many more.
