What kind people will like a Manic Pixie Dream Girl? Could it be a personality type or a male trope ? If so, how would you define it ?

MPDG's are designed to be likeable.  They are creative, funny, spontaneous and charming.  I generally enjoy the characters, but I'm growing tired of the archetype.  MPDG's are so full of quirks that they usually lack depth and realism.
