Can I put a search box inside a Google Doc?

  • Is it possible to put a search box inside a Google Document in Google Docs/Google Drive? We have an internal Q&A document (word style) that is getting bigger and bigger. I would like to put a search function inside like http://desk.com. Yes, eventually my team could search inside the document with the proper function in the menu, but I was looking for a more user friendly option

    This seems somewhat counterintuitive since you have Google Search available to you for each and every doc right at the top of your screen.  But to answer your question, there is no way to embed a search field inside a Google native document.  You could embed the document into a Google Site page and then use the Search widget in Google Sites to search on the doc.  That may work for you...

Google Docs has a "find" feature for searching documents.Place instructions at the top of the document:"Press Ctrl+f to search this document."The search bar will appear and they can find what they are looking for.
