How can I delete email addresses from Gmail's autocomplete?

People change email addresses. It is my reflex to rely on gmail's autocomplete. Sometimes, this reflex gets me in big trouble as I send to the old email address of a trusted person who is no longer at old email address. And unintended party sees old email.

Edit in contacts. Also, if you're keeping the old email, re-order the emails as the auto-complete selects the top one.

In Gmail app search bar, type the inaccurate email id and tap search.If you find any mail recieved or sent to that email id, then delete that mail. Even though you have mentioned that the inaccurate email address is not found in contact list, I would recommend to set contact display - All contacts and now check again whether you can find the inaccurated email address. If so , delete it. If you are using gmail app, then clear cache of gmail app and resync your email account freshly.
