What can you do with a public management degree?

If you have 3 years of experience in Product Management, a technical degree from an Ivy League and 1 month left for a Product Management interview at Google, what is the best way to prepare for the interview?

  • For example, one of the typical questions is estimation questions. I know that they want to see how the candidate thinks, that the candidate thinks about all the scenarios, talks through the scenarios and provides a holistic answer. But this did not seem to impress them in my interview with them last year. What do they want to hear? What is the best resource to refer to?

  • Answer:

Create something.  Seriously, if you've got a technical degree and three years of PM experience, you should be able to make something that you can use to demonstrate these skills.  Download the Android SDK, install Eclipse, and just make something.
