How can I make my messages private so no one can send me a message except for my friends?

Answer:
Check settings and see if this is an option, otherwise, consider just blocking the people sending the insults. Then it's over. I have a LONG list of people blocked for one reason or another.

There are two inbox in facebook. "main" and "other". you can set the main inbox to strict filtering. this will only allow your friends messages to reach you. the "other" inbox is never gives any notification so ignore them easily. goto down arrow button (top left), click settings, privacy (left), Who can contact me?, Whose messages do I want filtered into my Inbox?, (select edit), set it to strict. P.S. this is my first ever answer here, i hope it helps.
