Tingling sensation all over my body?

Why do we feel a tingling sensation in our body, in our feet especially, after sitting for a while?

  • Is it a normal phenomenon or symbolic of some sort of malfunctioning or malnutrition in the body?

  • Answer:

When we sit for a long time, the blood circulation is obstructed due to our posture. e.g sitting cross-legged on the ground especially will put pressure on the arteries and blood vessels in lower leg region. When we suddenly stand up or switch positions, blood rushes to these areas creating the sensation of "pins and needles" pricking. This goes away after a while when that body part gets back to normal condition.
