Answer:
It's just that girls who study in DU are hard working. This means they 1. Study hard 2. make efforts to look good. It's a culture here to present yourself well both in terms of intellect as well as physical appearance. There are hell lot of activities and events in DU which grooms your overall personality. Girls of LSR, SRCC, Xaviers, Hindu, Hansraj or any college of DU may or may not have superiority complex. It cannot be generalized. It's a very subjective question. Delhi's culture is such where every female is forced to look good. Too much importance is given to looks, style and dressing sense. When you are already hard working and fairing well in your studies, you automatically start putting efforts to look good because of peer pressure/ environment. North Indians are obsessed with looks, complexion, money, status. Delhi being a union territory in North India has inherited this obsession. And research has shown that girls are more hard working as compared to boys. So brain was always there. Girls are intelligent undoubtedly. Beauty element has added because of the culture of north india. Therefore Girls of DU are a rare combination of beauty with brains.

I would have loved to just put up a picture of me to tell you that not everybody in top colleges is beautiful. I'm pretty average-looking. I happen to be in Lady Shri Ram College, but that's what it is.I just happen to be here and I really did not score well enough to be here had it not been for an entrance test. Besides marks though, we do end up being around the kind of people who know and talk about a wider range of things than people in other colleges. From what I discuss with my friends, I do think our class discussions are more enlightening with our teachers and peers than what normally is the trend in colleges. I guess that's one place, you could say, our brains smarten up. I don't know about other colleges, but in my college, girls take major independent initiatives to go out and work, participate in activities and campaigns and what not. I do think it helps one grow immensely. Finally, about superiority complex. Yes and no. We do think we're smart and deserve great things in life, etc. However, that does not come at the cost of demeaning anybody from another college or just another girl. We are critical about certain other colleges but that's only because we know that level of infrastructure or quality of education or stimulating environment is not great when it could be and that's fair, isn't it? Thanks for the A2A
