What are some software to automate bookkeeping?

60%  of my small business clients outsource administrative matters such as   payroll, tax and legal  compliance.  They carefully compete the services  to get the best deal.   They  tend to run their own accounting  system on less expensive software  such as Quick Books or Peach Tree and  find it is necessary to add  support in the form of   an employee to   handle it when the number of  transactions in the  monthly  accounting and  billing cycle becomes too  large.  For tax purposes they more often than not hand over a file with the year end closing data and backup to a CPA.

We use clearbooks- links into paypal and is cloud based. We are eBay based and it has been great for us!

I would recommend checking out Wave. Useful, free accounting tool that meets my needs.
