How do I make a review website?

How can I setup my review website for multiple countries and languages?

  • Hello, Lets say I have a website in Australia. It is a product review website. The reviews are done by the users. These products are sold all over the world however there are subtle packaging differences based on what country they go to. Users will add products and specify the specific details of the product including the packaging style. They will rate the products and leave a review in English. They will also say how much they paid and which retailer they bough it from. I want to extend this to Spain but I have the following concerns: The Spaniards do not want to see reviews in English. The Spaniards do not want to see the Australian prices or retailers. The Spaniards DO want to see Australian votes (numbers only) The Spaniards may be able to see the same products but those packaging differences will be there ultimately making them a different product. Having said that some products may be exactly the same. Multiply that conundrum for multiple countries, languages and currencies. This is where I am at. I believe the best way to do this is to make totally separate websites with separate databases. That way I can ensure it is region specific. The only problem here is that although other English speaking countries are not interested in the price paid or the retailers of other countries, they could be interested in the written reviews from other countries. All countries are interested in the vote numbers because that is universal. It would seem a shame to gather a lot of reviews and votes in Australia and then when the exact same product (no packaging differences) shows up in another country, all the Australian votes and reviews cannot be seen. Is there some defined methodology to deal with this? If I knew TripAdvisor, I would ask them..... Thanks, Blake.
