How can I find a graduate job in Computer Science in Europe?
-
I am graduating in computing science in May, I live in the UK and need to move to a country in the EU such as Holland or Germany. I cannot seem to find a source for graduate job listings in these countries or countries like these. Any help is appreciated.

Answer:
Unfortunately (and this is as far as I know) it isn't as simple as finding a single site that lists grad jobs in the EU, and even if there was something like that, the listings would have fierce competition, and might not tailor to the area in computer science you want to work in specifically. The alternative to this is good old manual job hunting. There are three approaches that I took when I was looking for jobs abroad, but they really depend on the company type and what sector within computer science specifically you want to work in (e.g game development, web, etc). List the companies you know of and would like to work for, then see if they have a division/website for the country you want to live in. This works best for international corporations like Microsoft or IBM, who have their own dedicated careers site for their entire global network. In the case that you're just broadly searching for companies by country, you'll have to put some extra effort. Usually you'll find most countries have some sort of government run business listing which you can sort through by industry, and use that as a starting point. On the off chance that doesn't work, you'll need to google your way through; for example, "games companies in Holland", and from there simply scour company websites for openings. Hope this helps! I know it isn't a direct solution, but it's certainly an alternative in case you don't find a EU jobs site.

Congratulations on your upcoming graduation this May with your computer science degree! That is very impressive and I wish you the best of luck in your job search. I wanted to pass along to you the website I have been using to find different student opportunities. The website is Hey Success, http://www.heysuccess.com and it has been vital to help in my search for a position. I was told about the website from my younger sister who has used it during her time abroad. The website is a fantastic resource to help you find graduate level work, all you have to do is search for graduate jobs and pick the countries you want to search in and the website brings you all the available positions in those countries. I have attached the graduates page for you to check out and to help you in your search, http://www.heysuccess.com/graduates.html!! Once again I would like to wish you the best of luck in your search and I hope you are able to find the perfect job opportunity for you! :)
