What sunscreen do you recommend?

Can you recommend a great sunscreen?

  • I realize how important it is to apply sunscreen during the hot summer months, but I HATE almost every one I've tried. I've tried a bunch ranging anywhere from $5-$100, and they always feel sticky/heavy, and gross. Makes me go from feeling refreshed right after a shower, to feeling gross and oily right away. Any suggestions?

One of the most common recommended by dermatologists is TiSilc, but it has now been renamed DNA Control Sun Block. It does not burn the eyes, is an SPF 40, and gives the skin a slight tint which women love. It even corrects DNA damage. I have used it for many years in Arizona, and have not been burnt. I recommend it to all my patients and to all who use my Bare Skin Care products. I am sensitive to the sun and most sunscreens.  Although I haven't tried this yet, it was just recommended and will be my next defensive course of action this year- Coconut Oil.  Search 'coconut oil as sunscreen.'  http://coconutoil.com/using-coconut-oil-as-a-natural-sunscreen-organic-sunblock-recipe/

Not sure if this is available in US, but i absolutely LOVE http://www.pizbuin.com/uk. It dramatically changed my life couple of years ago when I discovered it - I developed a sun allergy and thanks to their 'Allergy' range I don't need to hide from the sun anymore. The 'After Sun Tan Intensifier' is just amazing! With regards to application - it absorbs right into your skin, doesn't feel oily (don't use the oil products obviously) or sticky and have a subtle scent - nothing too heavy. I can't love it enough. I've been using it for about four years now and would not change to anything else. They're not paying me for this btw!  :) http://www.pizbuin.com/uk

You can try powder sunscreens, peter thomas roth does a fairly decent ones. Or a lot of korean makeup compacts come with SPF in it.

As someone with very sensitive, pale skin that lives in a very hot climate (South Florida) I can only recommend Shiseido. They have formulas for face and body. A friend of mine recently raved about Rocky Mountain Soap Company's Vanilla Coconut SPF, but I haven't tried it myself.

Be careful with sunscreens as many contain just as many chemicals and other substances that will irritate your skin as they do UV protecting ingredients. While this isn't a sunscreen per say, I would recommend an Avocado oil face cream like this one for keeping your face protected throughout day to day activities. http://www.castlebaths.com/avocado-face-cream.html You may want to look into something stronger if you plan to spend a day at the beach, though.

If you have dry skin, I highly recommend a Japanese sunscreen I am currently using that is very lightweight, alcohol-free, and uses only physical UV filters. It is called the Atopita Moisture UV Cream 50 and it offers SPF 50 and PA++++ protection against both UVA and UVB rays. If you do not have dry skin, and prefer a watery or milky texture that dries down to a weightless texture, I recommend Biore UV Aqua Rich Watery Essence SPF 50+. This sunscreen has alcohol, and uses a combination of physical and chemical filters. Japanese sunscreens are very cosmetically elegant and have textures that people don't mind wearing.

You can try the Eltamd UV Clear SPF 46.  It works great for oily skin, because it doesn't clog the pores and doesn't feel heavy on the skin.  I have really sensitive skin so I have to be careful about what I use, and this sunscreen was great for me. It doesn't have any chemicals in the ingredients, so it's good.  I think this will work great for you because it will protect your skin and give you moisture without feeling heavy. There are a huge number of sunscreen lotions available in the market. Most of these claim to be the https://www.proactiv.in/sunscreen-lotion.php. This makes the buying decision all the more difficult. However, one must look for a sunscreen that is best for his or her skin type. Also, you must look for a sunscreen that has ingredients that suit your skin type. I have tried three sunscreen lotions so far and have found them to be good. First I invested in the Lotus Herbals Safe Sun Sunscreen PA+++ SPF 40. This sunscreen is suitable for all skin types. Source:makeupandbeautytreasureIt provides protection against both, the UVA and UVB rays. The texture of this sunscreen is smooth that makes it easy to apply. Next, I tried the Proatciv Daily Protection Plus Sunscreen SPF 30. This sunscreen lotion too was very good. Its light weight formula gives it a non-greasy texture that makes it suitable for acne-prone skin. Of late I have been using the Banana Boat Ultra Protect SPF 30 Sunscreen lotion, and this too has turned out to be excellent. Source:kunchalasIt is perfect for people with dry to normal skin. As it has a bit greasy texture, it is not suitable for people with oily skin. People with oily skin can go for the Proactiv sunscreen. Banana boat sunscreen is water resistant too and is apt for afternoon or morning swimming sessions. You can also take it along on your next beach holiday.

Hi, I am a beauty expert and I will recommend a cream "Dermaxsol" which is medical grade from Solvaderm brand.Dermaxsol is a Daily Facial Moisturizer with SPF-30 which nourishes and hydrates the skin and helps to defend against sunburn. It is great for all skin types. Dermaxsol moisturizes and reduces the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.
