Where In Indonesia?

What are some good universities or polytechnics in Indonesia where I can pursue a degree in graphic design?

• I am 21 years old and have a Bachelor's degree in civil engineering. I want to learn and work in the graphic design field. I think I will get more opportunity if I have a degree. My priority is either diploma/D3, D2, or D1 (anything but bachelor/S1, actually) Does this sound like a good plan? How else would you suggest if I want to get a degree to make myself more "qualified"? What university or other higher education within Indonesia would meet my need? Is there any scholarship within/outside Indonesia that I'm qualified for based on my profile?

  Erm perhaps this answer won't really answer the question as I have no idea of which higher education institutions that offer diploma degree solely on graphic designing is best. I know ITB's FSRD is good, I heard they have diploma program for animation. IT Telkom, ISI or IKJ is also good from what I heard and see from my interactions with some of its alumni, but I'm not sure if they offer diploma degree at all. I guess you can google that? There are also other private institutions, but alas, I really have no idea which one is best. Wait, that's not all. I have several opinions on your plan on getting qualified; Ok now, as somebody with water resources engineering bachelor degree who want to switch field and work as a graphic designer, I'm assuming you already have quite a fervent passion and stand-out skill on graphic designing. I'm not an industry expert no, but, I can see that emphasis on degree is fading away in this particular field. I think what's very important in starting a career in the graphic designing area is to have a solid portfolio. You might have no academic degrees that qualify you to be a graphic designer, BUT if you could show people your actual works on actual projects and impress them, you have a chance on getting hired.   You can start asking around for people holding events or campaigns and need a good design as communication purposes. You can help your brother/sister/cousin/niece/nephew on designing his/her school's year book. You can submit your designs to sites like http://deviantart.com, http://gantibaju.com, etc in which you can measure your designs impact on people. But of course, you need to learn on your own about visual communication, UI/UX and probably participate in forums to get a vision on future trends. If what you create is well accepted and able to generate significant impact on whatever it is intended for, you have a shot in making it!
