How do I get past the sonic wall on work computer?

I am currently getting my BA in Computer Science. If my goal is to work as an analyst for a company on Wall Street, is it better to get an MBA or a Masters in Computer Science?

  • Answer:

I'm currently doing my MBA at a top school. Without experience it is very unlikely that you'll get onto a good MBA program, also most people who graduate from a good MBA program go into banking at a higher level than analyst. My recommendation would be to take as many quantitative, econ, and business classes as you can during your BA and focus on getting a couple of summer internships in the field your interested in. The banks take plenty of analysts right out of undergrad and computer science s good prep because it teaches you to think logically. If you're at a good school and you make the right effort to network and recruit effectively you can get into a bank straight from undergrad, there's no need to do a masters immediately. One of my classmates went to Goldman straight out of a compsci undergrad and was a VP by the time he left to get his MBA.
