What exactly are Rss feeds?

What are some good RSS advertising alternatives/platforms to AdSense feeds?

  • On December 3, 2012, Google is retiring AdSense for feeds. I am a publisher who currently makes c. 20% of all ad revenues from RSS advertising, using AdSense. I am not looking to list my RSS feed in a marketplace, but just fill it with "relevant" ads - like AdSense does. I don't like the whole marketplace process, ad space tends to be left blank from time to time, I have to disclose distribution/reach numbers, etc. and it is simply a pain. What are some good RSS advertising alternatives?

  • Answer:

You can use BuySellAds RSS, Pheedo and even insert ads directly by yourself on your feeds. See http://netmediablog.com/alternative-to-adsense-for-feeds/ for details.

Since google has made it clear that they are not going to give any extension to Adsense for content ads after Dec and asked publishes to search for other monetization mediums to keep earning from feeds. I would recommend you to try out following options: FeedBlitz – This is one good service which is starting a revenue sharing program, and they are good at providing an RSS service. Amazon and Ebay Contextual Ad – Both these services provide contextual ad services, which are not specially made for the RSS feeds but you could use the same in the feeds with the ad plugins to show the banner ads in feeds.
