What are the programmes in the United Nations that hire Graduate/Under-Graduates fresh out of Engineering School?

I will be graduating soon and from what research I've done, UN seems to be a good place to start my career. The IFC used to hire undergrads, and I was told that they're now looking for experienced people. Also, I'd like to move away from Engineering and focus on the economics/policy/financial side of UN. Is a major in any of the mentioned fields absolutely necessary?
