I'm a java developer and have recently signed up to a site http://www.codequalified.com. They match programmers with companies based on coding skills. So they would give me coding challenges to complete or let me show them work on my GitHub that i'm proud of, which would then be evaluated. I'll only get job offers that fit my spec and I have the skill set for. I think it's a really cool idea and know a few people who will agree. Might be worth a look.
