Train from Mumbai to Nagapattinam?

Can I use 3 AC passenger train ticket on mumbai local train in first class compartment, running on same route?

  • Basically if I have a 3AC or 2AC ticket on a passenger train which goes from Indore to  Mumbai Central via Borivali, can I get down at Borivali and use the same ticket in 1st class Mumbai Local train to travel from Borivali to Andheri. (Andheri falls in between Borivali and Mumbai Central - same route).

  • Answer:

Yes you can. The rules are when you change trains , its your reservation doesnt carry forward...so you can travel in a general compartment only

No. Mumbai suburban railway does not have anything to do with mail and express trains other than train schedules and time table. Train schedules because they have a common track for fast trains and express trains.
