Why do people in Quora give such long answers while they are available in Google even?

Honestly I’ve wondered the same thing.It seems like half the questions on here could be simply answered with a Google search. I’d like to imagine that people volunteer so much time to thoroughly answer questions as an act of fulfillment or to apply their knowledge that they would like to share with others.A good question to ask would be, “Why do people ask questions on Quora that can be answered easily with Google?”, and the answer to that question would be something along the lines that they want a custom answer directly to them on a site that is familiar to them, using the knowledge of someone out there who will write an answer specifically to you.To answer your question, people give long answers to questions that could be answered on Google because they would like to help out other people on a topic that they themselves deeply care about, on a site that they are familiar with.I hope that helps!
