  You should use the first days of practice to determine which players have the best work ethic. Those players that work the hardest and perform the best in practice should be your first-string, starting players, and should get the most playing time. Once you have determined your depth chart (starters, 2nd string, 3rd string, 4th string), you will need to determine the positions they play, based on their skill set. You will need to have them do drills, which will test their speed, agility, and strength. Also, you do not have to worry about what type of defense to play. The great thing about a group of girls is that after a while, they will connect with each other, and unite on their own style of play :)
