    Coding involves a lot of critical thinking, and a lot of retention of rules, regulations, and compliance. I do not believe a 3 month course would be adequate enough to teach anyone the information that involves coding. IF you are already doing billing, collecting, or something with insurance... then maybe yes, it would be good for you. Otherwise, I would take a coding certificate course through the local college/business school.

It wouldn't be worth it to me. EHR systems bill and code as the doctor charts. An in house biller then reviews it, ensures proper coding, and sends it out. Because of the increase in automation, there is a bit of drop in demand, so external b/c groups can and do demand extensive experience.
