  • Answer:

Go to the block and shoot with one hand. Put your non shooting hand behind your back. Make sure your elbow is perpendicular to the floor and your arm is around a 45* degree angle. Make sure you flick your wrist straight and the ball touched your middle finger last. Watch the ball and make sure it is spinning in one direction (towards you). Do 20 on one block, 20 on the other, and 20 about 1.5 feet away from the front of the rim. Then, try to shoot and make sure you shoot the same way you shot the shorter shots (above), put your non shooting hand on the side of the ball. As you jump (STRAIGHT UP! DONT JUMP FORWARD!), bring the ball to forehead level and at the too of your jump, flick your arm and wrist (as stated above). Make sure the ball spins toward you. And just keep practicing and practicing and practicing and practicing.

Well to start off go to the closest corners of the hoop and swish ten shots in from both corners and the middle repeat twice and branch out but not at the three dont jump when doing this so you can get your legs involved As for your form: keep your elbow tucked in at a 90 degree angle it might feel awkward but youll get use to it. Bend your legs so your releasing as you come up on the bend so your keeping everything smooth. With your shot release point its allright if you release a little bit above your head its all about comfortability but you need to keep your mechanics right. When doing a jumpshot you wanna release at the highest point at your jump. DONT release on your way down and be shure to flick your wrist AND ALWAYS keep your elbow extended Focus on getting your form right before you try and get to threes i suggest staying at midrange for about 2 months and then branch out if you feel good.
