What careers can a music-major student possibly have after graduation?

    You could could look at Data Sonification, was used by NASA recently and is thought to be  helpful to view data for scientists. It's turning data into music, and I guess what they're saying is that you can pick up subtleties easier than pouring over numbers and graphs. Look on YouTube search for Vice channel and then the Motherboard sub channel - there was something very recently there I watched on the subject.

Music Teacher - This is the most common. You can set up your own music coaching school, or join an existing one as a teacher. Music composer at companies. (E.g: Video Games, Advertising agencies ). There are companies like Digital Chocolate, which compose jingles for video games and online media. You could join them. Music director (Movies, TV shows). This one is pretty obvious. Music partner with bands : When bands tour, the responsibility of arranging the music for their shows falls on one of the music partners. This is apparently an option as well. I am not aware of any other musician in my circles who does jobs outside these things. Of course, you could start your own band as well, but that is a long long struggle with disparate rewards.
