    No. It would be a very bad idea to do this. Wikipedia is basically not considered a reliable source for academic purposes. It has no formalised checks in place of the information added to it, so the information in its articles isn't reviewed or anything like that (at least not in any formal way). As such it can't be relied on as accurate. Now some articles are pretty good, but others less so. If the page has sources that are from legitimate websites or other sources you could cite those. If, though, there really are none as you claim, I'd actually doubt the page itself was trustworthy.

I would really try to avoid it. Wikipedia itself is generally not considered a reliable source by most professors (as it can be edited by anyone at anytime), and if I were grading your academic paper, I'd take off points if you used it as a source. Try Googling the specific information you need from the Wikipedia article and find a better, more reliable source. Wikipedia had to have gotten that information from somewhere.

I'd flunk you for failing to do the research for any significant paper. Nothing in Wiki is gospel except the list of sources they provide to back the statements made there. No sources....and the thing is worse than academic garbage.
