Will I be at a disadvantage for having a Bachelor of Arts degree instead of Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science?
-
I'm a sophmore at a mid-tier CS university majoring in Computer Science, but I'm undecided on my degree. For a B.S. at my college one must have completed 14 credit hours of lab science compared to 0 for a B.A. I'd rather use that time for additional CS courses or even studio art courses though. Will employers value a B.A. degree less?

Answer:
Depends on the school and the courses you took, and your strength.

I can't imagine that anyone will care. There's no consistency in degree names across schools: some only offer a BA, some only offer a BS, and those that offer both have idiosyncratic distinctions between them.
