When do i apply for the LEGAL PRACTICE COURSE?

Do my term breaks during the UK Legal Practice Course belong to me, or are they spent preparing for exams and submissions?

  • Answer:

If you are doing the LPC, then I assume you plan to qualify as a solicitor. If you already have a training contract lined up and are confident that you can get through the exams OK, then yeah, by all means don't break your neck during those occasions when you can enjoy some down time. If you don't, then you must know how competitive it is to get one of those contracts and what you are up against. So if that applies, by all means have some leisure time, but your main focus should be on achieving your best possible result and if there's time, working on the training contract applications.

If you were my child I would encourage you to spend as much time has possible studying if you want to be the top of your chosen profession. Its hard work now that will give you a better life in the future. I have met so many people including myself who at some time say I wish I had done that and I would be at the top of the tree.
