How do I program my remote control?

How to program car remote control if I don't have a currently working remote control?

  • I would like to buy a remote control for my car locks but I notice all instructions on programming ask that you have a current WORKING remote control in order to program the new one. ...show more

  • Answer:

Unfortunately you have to have one working unit in order to self program a second unit. You can still get a new one programmed if you don't have a working one, you will just have to have a professional do it. I would try a locksmith or a mechanic, they will usually do it cheaper than a dealership. Hope this helps. www.keylessentryremotefob.com https://s.yimg.com/hd/answers/i/a19ec5b6fbe64903826443487fe41aa3_A.png?a=answers&mr=0&x=1400284016&s=bbf129f0c0db4c6a853a1d5a0ec305fa

Ace Hardware in my area claims to be able to program remotes. I can't say if they can do your car, but it's worth asking. Ace Hardware stores are all over the place. I guess it's Chrysler's way of making a lot of money from people who need a new remote when the only working one fails.
