How can I stop my ink cartridges from printing purple?

    You need to do a head/nozzle cleaning. You may have to do it a lot, if your printer has not been used in a while. I print infrequently on my Epson, and when I go to print, I have to do a nozze check/ head clean about 6 times before I get a good print out. It's annoying. Makes me want to buy a laser printer.

When you use 'compatible' cartridges as I suspect you have done, some use ink that is really bad though they charge the same as those who use better quality inks. Splash out and buy genuine real Kodak ones and the colours will be perfect again.

Not every compatible/remanufactured inkjet cartridges are the same. If you need high quality ones, try http://www.priceless-inkjet.com/printers.Kodak.ink.html, if they don't work, Priceless Inkjet will exchange them or return the money
