(Programming) Is it possible to call a function defined with three arguments by passing only two arguments to it ? If yes, then how?

It needs to be done without overloading i.e. call should be to the same function only!!!! My teacher said to me it can be done but left it for me to figure it out!!!! Please Help!!!!
