How to search for other people private blogs?

How do I A2A someone if they don't show up when I search?

  • Sometimes I try to A2A specific people for questions, but they don't show up in the "Find People" search for some reason, usually because they have common names. Is there a way to use their full username (with the number at the end) or some other unique identifier to A2A them?

  • Answer:

You can't.  At least as far as I can tell. I think you're finding yourself bumping up against the current limitations of the search program.  Pressing the 'view more' link seems to bring up a seemingly endless list of suggestions, but as soon as you use the 'find people' link, you are limited to nine suggestions, which offers you no link called 'view more'. There are currently 1,549 John Smith's registered at Quora (I just checked).  A search for 'John Smith' will suggest nine of them (out of the 1,549 possible selections) to you and that is it.  I've tried 1) cutting and pasting the desired person's URL (from their profile) and 2) adding their unique identifier manually to the search box.  Neither has any influence on how the nine are selected (which, the best I can tell, is at random, i.e. no logic in the unique identifying numbers associated with each John Smith). Perhaps a Quora engineer with see this answer and make an improvement that solves this problem.  Until then, looks like we're SOL.
