Stray cat ran over by car. Back legs and lower half seems broken/crushed; spine seems twisted. What to do?

I agree with Furious Unicorn and I don’t believe your story either…plus you opened an account today so it’s typical troll endeavor. So…you live in a “third world country” but have access to the internet…right! Then you found a cat that got ran over by a car but somehow managed to survive a collision against a 4,000 pounds car!! NO cats can survive being hit by a car and you don’t see those road kills as the garbage truck pick them up. And then the vet does not have the “proper facility to do experimental surgery”…that was the funniest part in your story. And the vet cannot put the cat to sleep and administer meds to stop the heart, performing euthanasia? So you go to another vet. Now, I’m almost peeing in my pants laughing.

Honestly, the best thing you can do is find a quick way to kill the poor thing. It's a hard thing to do, but probably the best for the cat. If you don't have any way to mercy kill him, or don't want to, then the next best thing is to try to keeping comfortable. Give him a soft bed and water and something soft to eat if he can. He probably won't suffer for too much longer on his own.

Take it to a vet so it can be humanely put down or to a shelter so it can be humanly put down Being ran over is a very, very common end for cats who have lazy irresponsible owners that let them roam. the same medications used to put an animal to death are usually also used in lower doses for other things such as surgery -- so I have a very difficult time believing that any vet would not have the necessary injectable medications I think you need to talk with other vets in/near your area

Keep the cat indoors. Give the cat food and water, litter and a bed and let him rest. Put the food and water by his bed. Use a shallow litter pan so he can get in and out of it easily. He may heal on his own. I have a rescued hit by car cat who was in similar condition to the one you describe. She healed on her own. (She was vetted btw, by the time she was brought to me healing was already taking place and the vet took a wait and see approach. Today except for curled toes on her right rear foot and a bit of a limp, she is fine.) Get a flea spray from the vet and put some on the cat to keep the flies off of him. If you see any fly eggs on the cat, remove them at once. If you see any maggots on the cat, he will need to see the vet to get them removed. I have another cat who came to me after surviving being hit in the head by a car. She too is fine. So cats CAN survive being hit by cars and they CAN heal well enough to go on to live a good life.
