Yes, because it's cheap to maintain and it's useful for management positions down the road, even if you're not technically an accountant. One of my coworkers just left our firm to take a VP position with a manufacturing company. He's doing operations management even though he's a CPA, but he's going to maintain that certification just because down the road it'd be a valuable thing to have on his curriculum vitae or resume when applying for higher-level positions. This is a little rude of me, but why did you go into accounting and join a CPA firm when you have no intention of staying in accounting?
