What Does Salvation Mean?

For all Christians, what does Grace mean to you? And what is its link to salvation?

  • I have recently been wondering what the majority of Christians believe Grace to be. Is it the Grace of the bible or is it a watered down Grace due to religion? Let me know what you ...show more

  • Answer:

We can only be saved through grace alone, by faith alone, in Christ alone (Ephesians 2:5) Grace is God coming down to move people to places of well-being (usually spiritual well-being). Once God does that, then faith enters in (for faith is a gift from God), and Christ is embraced as Saviour and Lord. That is the grace that leads to salvation. It cannot be conjured up, or demanded, or worked for. God takes the initiative, for He alone reads our hearts and minds. That is why God gives grace to the humble - see Proverbs 3:34 AiH

Grace is the giving of something that is undeserved. I heard a story once about a woman who was driving in her car when a teen in the convertible in front of her threw a FROZEN TURKEY out of the car. It went through her windshield. She suffered major facial disfigurement even after several surgeries. After all of the surgeries, she could speak, but barely. One eye was about 2 inches lower than other. Her nose still practically unrecognizable. When she met the boy in the courtroom, she took hold of him and blessed him, saying she knew that wasn't who he was destined to be and she believed he had a great worth inside of him. That day changed his life forever. GRACE CHANGES ALL. Grace is the ONLY THING that can cut through Satan's claws embedded in our lives. Grace is the cornerstone of love and through love is the birth of mercy. Ephesians 2:8-9 KJV For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: not of works, lest any man should boast. We are saved BY GOD'S GRACE through our faith. By believing, God wraps His grace around us like a warm blanket in the cold and welcomes us into His eternal family. It has nothing to do with anything we do but is fully because of God's amazing grace. Praise God! Holy, Holy, Holy is the Lord God Almighty. Who was and is and is to come.

Grace is given when salvation is obtained. The way to gain it is by trust (Greek word "pisteuo") in the one God sent, Jesus Christ. People water Grace down when they begin to make rules for all Christians to adopt. Thy stand against grace when certain people preach a faith + works salvation plan. According to Paul and Jesus there will be those Christians, often in a church, who preach a works based salvation plan. A lot of time they don't understand how they preach doubt and death when they preach faith + works.

Grace is something that is intrinsically undeserved. Sin etered the world with Adam and ever since humans got seprated from God. So mankind was unable to save itself. God sent His Son Jesus Christ, to die in our place, so we could have redemption through Him.

It is God's condescension in sending his son to die for undeserving sinners and grant them forgiveness and eternal life.

The greater grace one has during their lifetime the greater doors that are open in heaven for them. the more you sin,the less that grace is.

Apostle James The Greater

God's grace means he loves you and forgives you when you repent and become born again receiving all he has for you through Jesus Christ; not by any works you have done, but according to his mercy; he forgives you for past present and future sins and now that you are in Christ there is no condemnation

To be gracious to others, is to show them some degree of favor, or preferential treatment. The grace of God that the Bible speaks of is His favor towards individuals or groups, which is not otherwise earned. It's relationship with salvation is this: Ephesians 2:8,9 - "For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast."
