My sharp Tv wont show my computer?

I have a tv to vga cable for my computer that wont show when i plug something into it?

  Well jonathan, the VGA ports on both your PS2 and your computer are signal outputs. You can send the signal from either the PS2 or the computer to the VGA input on a monitor and it will display your images. You can not send the VGA output from the PS2 to the VGA output of the computer, it just does not work. Some monitors may have multiple VGA inputs to hook both devices into, but I assure you it will not be a $99.00 Brand "X" 13" monitor. Again if you are trying to hook the VGA cable from the PS2 into your laptop it will not work, laptop's VGA port is output only.
