What is the most awesome job in security and why?

  • What do you think is the most awesome job in dealing with security and why. This can include security of a community, national security, cyber security, building security, any kind of security. Some examples: secret service, mall security, fire dpt, police dpt, US air Marshall, infantry division in the marine corps... I am looking for all opinions.

    I would say director of the CIA must rank pretty high on the awesomness list.  Similarly director of the NSA must rank pretty high too.

As a (), I can definitely say Pen Tester is a pretty cool job. As a penetration tester, you are legally and ethically given permission to throw whatever script, hack, or malicious tool at an organization's network to bring it to its knees. The trick here is you document how all of these attacks perform and where certain security controls fail, in order for the organization to understand its vulnerabilities and implement better information assurance measures. Literally paid to make a mess so someone else can clean it up. Pretty boss.
