How/Where do I need to go to get money to pay for my housing and tuition from a student loan?

  Your financial aid will be sent directly to the school and used to pay your tuition and fees automatically. If there is money left over then the school will send it to you. Every school is different it terms of how and when you get your money. Some schools issue checks and have them available for pickup from the financial aid office or they will mail it to you. Other schools will send you a debit card. Other schools will offer direct deposit (but you'd have to set this up in advance). Some schools will issue refunds the first few days of classes. Other schools will make you wait 4-6 weeks into the semester before issuing refunds. In any case, do not rely on having this money available to pay for books and supplies before classes start. Call your financial aid office to see how and when you can expect your refund.
