What states have the greatest nursing shortage?

Is there a nursing shortage anymore? There has been so much press about the nursing shortage?

  • But no one is hiring. Will the "shortage" come back after the economy rebounds? Or is there permanently enough nurses?

  • Answer:

Thank Obummer-care. Doctors have had to sell or close their practices already, so there goes the jobs in doctors' offices and clinics. Millions of unemployed people have jumped into health-related training programs to try to get jobs - big bump in numbers of workers. Many nurses who had left the profession (e.g. stay-home moms, etc) have had to go back to work because they desperately need the income - another bump in numbers of workers. And worst of all, hospitals, nursing homes, and other health care facilities are not hiring because of planned cutbacks in Medicare reimbursements, states slashing medicaid reimbursements, and insurance companies paying more slowly than ever. There is no money to hire medical care personnel - and you have only Obummer-care to thank for putting a monkey wrench in the machinery. Rebound? Hah! The second wave of the Greater Depression is just starting to hit.
