Nursing School Advice/Tips?

  • Answer:

http://www.rn.ca.gov/careers/steps.shtml First year in nursing school is "pre-nursing". You're not in the actual program yet. This year weeds out those who won't make it through the program. It consists of a lot of * basic * classes that you will need. Most if not all of these classes, to do well, all you have to do is memorize what you are supposed to know. Those who do not do well the first year usually do not make it through the entire program (even if admitted). The minimal GPA for science is only 2.5 in many schools, and half of students don't make it. They fool around, they party, and they simply don't study enough. If you focus completely on what you're supposed to do, four years go by quickly. Things look better now for new grad nurses, and most likely you will find a job fairly quickly when you are finished. Best wishes
