How do you install steam on pc?

Can buy a non-Steam Cloud game on one PC without installing it and install it on another PC?

  It depends on how you're buying the game. For instance, if I'm buying a game from, say, PopCap, they simply email me a certificate. I then download the "demo" version of the game onto the PC then paste the certificate into it as instructed to convert the "demo" version into the full version. Other services, like Impulse, work the same as Steam. I must have Impulse installed on the PC and be logged into my account in order to download, install, and play the games I've purchased. I know Steam allows you to buy games as gifts for other users. In this case, when your friend logs into his Steam account on his PC, he'll see he has a new game as a gift. After that he'll use Steam to download and install the game as normal.
